Mediation Requirement and Readiness
Description
In many California custody cases, parents are required to participate in mediation before appearing in court. This sprint explains when mediation is required and how the process typically works. Participants learn what mediators expect and how preparation can influence the effectiveness of mediation sessions.
The session focuses on helping participants assemble the materials and information needed to participate in mediation productively. Participants review common issues discussed during mediation and develop a preparation checklist that supports constructive discussion. By the end of the sprint, participants will have a clearer understanding of how to prepare for custody mediation and how to approach the process strategically.
