Separation Triage
Description
The first days and weeks following separation often involve urgent decisions that can affect finances, housing, and communication patterns for the remainder of the divorce process. This sprint focuses on stabilizing the immediate situation by identifying the most important priorities during the early stage of separation. Participants examine the practical realities of the first two weeks after separation and learn how to reduce risk while maintaining stability in daily life.
The session introduces a triage framework covering financial access, housing arrangements, communication protocols, and personal safety considerations. Participants develop a checklist that helps them address the most pressing issues quickly and systematically, avoiding common mistakes that occur when decisions are made under stress. By the end of the sprint, participants will have a structured plan for stabilizing the early separation period and maintaining control over critical aspects of their situation.
